Are USA roads faster ?

I am travelling near by areas to Santa Clara and I heared people talking about the speed in the USA. I really got upset with Indian Citizens who proudly saluted speed over here and abuses Indian road.

I think these people have not visited India in recent years or they are biased to other country. Matter of the fact is India has officially faster capacity on road basis. In US maximum official speed is 70 MPH (~115 kmph) including all type of roads.

The developement of the Bangalore airport to city road limit is going to be 180 kmph and it will finish by 2010. This will be real achievement by India. Right now, Express Roads are having 110-120 kmph. All of these are official. Unoffcially people do drive 130-140 kmph on Express roads.

I do believe on Highway Police and catching of violation of the speed limit are liberal in India and its really very well implemented in US. These do increment Average speed but not the Fastest speed.

We are no longer behind ....

skiing experience

This was my first skiing experience and to be honest, I haven't seen such a snow in great amount. Me and friends went Lake Tahoe for a day. Of course, one day was very short but there was a bad weather the very next day and it is the safest to leave on the same day (job awaits on Monday !)

We prepared with hand-gloves and some water proof clothes earlier. It was decided to leave the home as early as possible. We all are lazy in getting up and as a result we manage to start ~ 160 mile journey at 6 am. We reached Alpine (skiing place) at 11 around.

We filled up forms and got kit on rent. It is really very difficult to wear that boot. We helped each other and skiing beginner's class was scheduled at 1 pm. We played here and there and then instructore came. He timepassed some amount in inquiring what we do and what's name and all.. and suddenly he moved to other team. After some time we got the other instructor. She was comparatively well. We put down many a times and then we learn to stand and move slowly and rotate in a circle etc... At last there you go, we skiied from green carpet (lift used to go up on slop) and that was the real experience.

I didn't know how to stop and I drop down intentionally many time (almost all time) not to cross our area boundary. After 10 around time I learnt well to break at desired time and then it was real fun to move around.

Then what, go up and ski down, its a real fun and amazing experince. Got motivated to go up and up and come down in short time.

I was really scared at beggining and felt down many a times... But at the end, there was a fun and enjoyed a lot ....

In between, one of the friend didn't feel well and he needed to rest and all... also we felt short time in a day.. but at the end... felt lucky to be here...

I just think following thought after all these :
Push Yourself to the Limits And Experience Wonders You Never Imagined ..

I got a bit afreshed ...

After a long time of observation, I have realized that I become more productive and free thinker when I take a fresh breath and take relax time somewhere. For me, I noticed that my such place is near water and that too when there is no human noise.

I don't know whether such thing exists for others or not but I am sure that they should exist. It gives motivation atleast to me.

Recently, I visited near by sea shore and I feel really afreshed and I am able to complete my tasks (not only job task!) in desired time. It really breaks mind movements and makes me to think on my need and what I am doing. For me, I am moving to right direction with this, I guess we all can find something like this which motivates individual.

What you say ?

Computer Museum @ Mountain View

Its nice rainy day. Water on the floor, wet car and luckily less traffic on noon. You can see all positive points to go ahead and do as you wish ! Huh, not talking for romatic scene but its a simple city museum atmosphere. Its really cool wind out and raining mildly.

Leaving room in the morning we had decided couple of shows to attend. Just at the enterance, we confirmed all shows and in our list one surprise show added for Macintosh History on its birthday. Felt very lucky !

Computer Museum at Mountain View is really special. First show was scheduled for "The Babbage Engine". There are only two engines in the world like that and I saw one of them. Containing near 8000 parts in the design and it can solve 7th order equation in just one circular shot. It weighs nearly 5 tons but its very accurate. Its really amazed to see all its functionality and efforts put by Babbage at that time.

The very next show was to have overview on the punch card and its revolution. It also explains how early computers were developed. After watching this, we can easily co-relate the hit-miss theory, sensors, all digital parts and all in the practical. To be surprised, the latest printer and punch card still follows the same concept.

One interesting part to print my name printing program on "IBM 1401". It is the first successful computer by IBM. It uses the character card to program. One mistake and whole bunch of cards are in waste. Thick power supply, bulky in weight and noisy at action. Its just basic char of those machines !

What next, yes you predict right. The Mac History.

Whole Macintosh innovation, experiments with Apple 1, Apple 2, Laisi, etc. are available in museum. Not less but volunteer are very willing there to describe Steve Jobs' journey from Mac to Pixar and again back to Mac. The evolution of iPod and its model for the demos.

There are also more visionary machines are available for demo. That includes punch card revolution in both direction "HW" and "SW".

Nice to spare couple of hours here. Good Practical site !

Most interesting part from Obama Inaugural address

...our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness...We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and nonbelievers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth. And because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.
President Barack Obama

First Day at US

Here is my first day experience at USA.

I landed here at San Fransisco airport at around 10 in the morning. Nice rainy day, mild wind blowing and what not, nice girls moving around !  It looks like dream come true. Everything looks systemetic and to the place. The pathway follows to the immigration system. I get inquired for the reasons of being here. Not much, I could easily answered all and my Identification got in the record. I moved directly to get my luggages and after that they got scanned with my declarations.

One of the collegue was already awaiting for my arrival to pick-me up with his wife. We meet for while and moved towards the parking area. We got out of the air-port and oh my God, first time I saw 5 lanes crossing each other. What a construction ? Steadily we moved towards the santa clara and to my appartment to reach. We put all the luggages and then I had my lunch at Chipotle (Maxcan Grill). It taste so nice and I was awaiting for some good food for so long. That's it. Later in the evening, I meet with my room mate and we shared gestures. Not less, but I was not in mood in sleep that day because of Jet Lag.

Yet my luck was as always with me, those were Christmas vacation for all and we had already planned to move San Diego for 4 days trip. At plan time, I was not included but there was a place in the car and I got in the trip. It started at mid-night. As I had Jet Lag, I was the key person in the car to make sure chat-talk with Driver. Everything went well and we reached La Jorre Park in the early morning.

Some key points :
  • Be very active with collegues/friends going out. At the end, we all are the gainer.
  • Don't stare at any girl/woman.
  • Use Hathodas all time, its a key to get fresh all time!
There are lots of other things over here.. See you in the next blogs...
